Aguaje Harvest (Sustainable Aguaje Oil Production)

After one year of providing organic natural nutrients, our preserved Moriche Palms have flourished and are ready for our annual harvest.

To attain a sustainable harvest, workers climb the trees using special climbing equipment, carefully remove the Aguaje and carefully lower the fruit to the ground.

The fruit is removed from the vine and carried to the river for transportation

The fruit is transported upriver to the main farm using peke peke boats. The production process is performed by indigenous women from this point forward as they meticulously sort, check, and clean each fruit individually.

The aquaje fruit is carried to the processing area. The fruit attained is of the highest quality.

Instead of pressing, a Peruvian women’s co-operative uses a traditional chemical-free method to extract the oil from the mesocarp attaining the highest purity and potency.

Aguaje Oil ranks in the most labour intestive oils from the Amazon to produce!
