Dragon's Blood and Substance P — the nerve connection
Skin contains an intricate network of sensory nerve endings that help detect
irritation, injury, heat, and pain.
When tissue becomes irritated or injured, these nerves can release chemical messengers that contribute to inflammation and heightened sensitivity.
One of these messengers is called Substance P.
Substance P is a neuropeptide involved in transmitting pain-related signals and promoting a process known as neurogenic inflammation.
In a study published in the scientific journal Experimental Dermatology, researchers investigated the effects of Dragon’s Blood resin from the Croton lechleri tree on sensory nerve activity.
They discovered that the resin significantly reduced the release of Substance P in a laboratory model involving sensory neurons and skin cells.
The researchers concluded that Dragon’s Blood demonstrated an ability to inhibit neurogenic inflammation by affecting the release of neuropeptides from sensory nerves.

ADD TO SPRAY BOTTLE
If direct application is difficult, place Dragon’s Blood into a clean spray bottle. Spray lightly, allow to sit for several minutes, and repeat as needed.
* If the sprayer clogs, simply rinse with warm water to restore flow.
